The Laurel Board of Trade, Inc. is a local non-profit membership organization founded in the early 1960’s by a group of Main Street small business merchants. At that time the group was known as “The Main Street Merchants Association” representing small business owners in the Laurel, Main Street area. As the years went by, small businesses in Laurel, but not necessarily on Main Street expressed interest in being involved and joining the organization. With that in mind the Directors decided to branch out and include all Laurel small businesses and the Main Street Merchants Association now known as The Laurel Board of Trade, Inc.
The Laurel Board of Trade, Inc. is comprised of more than 100 small business members – including retail merchants, restaurateurs, and professional service providers. The Laurel Board of Trade, Inc. works in partnership with the City of Laurel, Prince George’s County, and the State of Maryland to help our local merchants in the common goal to keep the commercial vitality in Laurel.
